Youth literature awards announced

Mosman Council has announced the winners of the 29th Youth Awards in Literature. 

The annual prose and poetry competition attracts budding poets and authors from primary and secondary schools locally and across the state.

This year’s awards attracted a high standard of entries, with 321 online submissions on a variety of topics. 

The total amount awarded for prizes was $2,500, with five first prize winners selects from five schools and colleges.

Congratulations to Neutral Bay Public School’s Caitlin Ong; Mosman High’s Matilda Meikle; St Pius X College Chatswood’s Isaac Elms; Mater Maria Catholic College’s Jade Cummins; and St Andrew’s Cathedral School’s Chantilly Ho.

Second prize winners, highly commended winners and commended winners were also chosen from the submitted entries.
