Two dwelling houses will be demolished to make way for the construction of a housing development for seniors or people with a disability in Collaroy.

The development will replace the current two-three storey dwelling house of brick construction located at 18 Alexander Street.

The proposed development provides five, three-bedroom, self-contained apartments. The individual apartments include private open space accessed directly from the main living rooms.

The proposal includes a basement level car park, containing 15 spaces and a driveway out to Alexander Street.

Residents within close proximity to the development have shown support to the proposal, with most people agreeing that the proposed development is a positive outcome for the site.

The proposed development includes vast new landscaping on the site, designed to provide a hierarchy of trees, shrubs and groundcovers.

According to the plans, the design provides a modern, high standard residential accommodation within an established residential precinct.
