A proposal is seeking public input to rename a laneway in Avalon.

The proposed name for the unnamed laneway is Murradjulbi Lane, meaning ‘Singing Bushlark’ Lane.

The new name has been proposed following the guidelines of the Geographical Names Board of NSW (GNB) and Northern Beaches Council’s policy for the naming of reserves, facilities, and roads.

There are no residential property addresses impacted by the renaming proposal.

Council has already submitted the name to the GNB for pre-approval, which has been granted.

Council will notify all property and business owners adjoining the laneway to seek feedback on the proposal and create a report following the notification period.
