Council supports local events

Northern Beaches Council has awarded almost $100,000 in grants and fee waivers to help bring back local events to the Peninsula.

The grants and fee waivers are part of the Council’s 2021/2021 Events Grants and Sponsorships Program. 

Projects and events which will receive funding include Manly’s Aqua Rugby; Carols by the Lake in Narrabeen; the Blues, Brews and BBQ’s Festival in Brookvale; and the Bondi to Manly Ultra, among various other events. 

The latest round of funding takes the total amount in grants and fee waivers to close to $100,000 for events that have been moved dates due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Northern Beaches Mayor, Michael Regan, said its important Council supports the community financially to ‘get back on its feet’. 

“The focus is on new and innovative events and other activities that add value and benefits as well as promote sustainability across the Northern Beaches,” Mayor Regan said.
