Clifton Gardens clean up
Fifty volunteers recently teamed up to conduct a clean-up of Clifton Gardens and Chowder Bay, with the amount of litter found described as ‘incredible and devastating’.
Volunteers from Eco Adventures say they removed an ‘alarming’ amount of discarded waste and plastic, including fishing lines, balloons, and party ribbons.
The Eco Adventures crew took to social media saying they were pleased with the amount of people who joined and supported, but said they had ‘barely scratched the surface’.
“Our resident dive expert, Sue, said at one point she got tangled in so much finishing line she had to abort the mission to remove it,” the environmental group wrote.
