Volunteering across Pittwater
Over 50s fun!
Community members over 50s are required to establish and run a Northern Beaches GoExplore! Mix and Mingle group. Volunteers will be responsible for organising fun activities for over 50s locals to socialise and connect, such as casual catch-ups, informal dinners, movie nights, attending festivals, doing karaoke, going for walks or hikes. The types of activities, and when they’re scheduled, are entirely up to the group members. Visit the GoExplore! Mix and Mingle Facebook group for more details.

Circles of Learning
Elanora Heights and Ingleside
Circles of Living is a not-for-profit dedicated to offering children hands-on experiences that educate them on culture, health and community building. The charity is looking for volunteers to facilitate a gardening program once a week for parents and young children. Together, you will spend time in the garden digging, watering and doing simple art activities. No gardening experience is necessary, just a love of children and nature and free time either on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. All volunteers must have a valid working with children check and will be provided with full training by an experienced facilitator. For more information and to apply, visit https://govolunteer.com.au/organisation/details/19900/circles-of-learning
Be a friend for an elderly widow
Sydney Legacy needs volunteers to visit older widows in the Northern Beaches community at least once per fortnight. The not-for-profit organisation offers support to families of veterans who gave their lives or health in service to our country. This includes providing elderly widows, who may experience grief and loneliness or have restricted mobility, with social visitors. You will be required to undertake activities that are fun and engaging for the older women, such as listening to music, playing cards or board games, reminiscing or simply having a chat. Caring, friendly and compassionate volunteers are required for a minimum of six to 12 months. Orientation and all ongoing training will be provided. To learn more, head to the SEEK website.
Give the gift of independence
MWP is on the lookout for volunteer drivers to accompany elderly and disabled clients to medical and social appointments. This role allows for these community members to remain independent in their own homes. You must be caring and reliable, and willing to donate a couple of hours a week or fortnight to the job. All training and support will be provided, and vehicle costs reimbursed. If you are interested, please call Bronwyn on 9913 3244 or email email@example.com.
