Melbourne Demons calling Manly home
The Melbourne Demons have relocated to Manly as the AFL and its clubs continue to navigate the COVID-19 spike in Victoria.
The Demons squad arrived late on Sunday night on a shared flight with the Geelong Cats, before checking in to the Novotel Manly Pacific.
The Brisbane Lions are also staying at the Novotel ahead of their clash with the Cats at the SCG this weekend.
The Demons' official Instagram page shows the team began training at Manly Oval - home of the Marlins - on Tuesday.
It is understood the club - which currently sits second-last on the ladder - will divide its training schedule between Manly Oval, Brookvale Oval and Blacktown, which has the advantage of Aussie Rules goalposts.
Thirty-three players have been included in the hub, "and with many players recently having children, six young families have also made the journey north", the club's website reveals.
"The sacrifice for those on the move for the next five weeks can’t be underestimated."
