Volume presents: Fixtures Seaworthy and Matt Rösner
08:00 PM - 09:00 PM
Art Gallery of New South Wales Naala Badu building Lower level 2, Meers Hall
Highlights
Join Seaworthy and Matt Rösner for a performance of their recent album at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Seaworthy is the conduit for Sydney-based instrumentalist and sound artist Cameron Webb. Matt Rösner is a sound artist from regional Western Australia who works with various acoustic instruments, custom-built software patches and detailed field-recording studies.
In 2023 Webb and Rösner created a series of instrumental improvisations at the Bundanon artist-in-residence program in Illaroo, New South Wales. The works respond to their time spent in the local environment and the ever-encroaching urbanisation that disturbs the natural soundscapes of the surrounding bushland and riverine habitats. The sounds and textures made by wind and tide, and insects and birds was front of mind when constructing and performing the material presented on the recordings Bundanon and Deep Valley (both released in 2024).
Volume presents: Fixtures expands on the success of the Art Gallery’s flagship music series Volume and continues our commitment to cutting-edge contemporary music.
